AirFrame: Breathe Freely
After 2 years of research and development, our company OVER created an unparalleled solution, AirFrame: an innovative, state-of-the-art air purifier designed to safeguard the health of everyone, from adults to children. Thanks to its sophisticated technology, it is able to eliminate from the air harmful polluting particles, such as Particulate Matter (PM 10 and 2.5), but also bacteria, mold and viruses, which today represent the major source of concern. Its uniqueness derives from the thoughtful and elegant design, the app enabled device monitoring&control, the total absence of filters and the ultramodern technology powering system to finally be able to breathe freely like never before.
The health benefits
Today, more than ever, the priceless value of health has been rediscovered. According to a study conducted by the European Environment Agency, the citizens are exposed to dangerous air pollutants in excess of the reference values outlined by the WHO. Particularly, almost 80% of European citizens breathe in PM2.5 in quantities higher than the imposed limits and almost 50% in relation to PM10. This figure becomes even more serious if we consider that closed spaces can be, on average, up to five times more polluted than indoor ones. Just considering this fact alone, it becomes clear how essential it is for each of us to be equipped with an air purifier, as it is able to capture pollutants and eliminate them. However, another factor, which has radically changed our lives, shows us the importance of air purification: COVID-19. According to official communications, SARS-CoV2 is transmitted primarily by droplets and aerosols from an infected person when sneezing, coughing, talking, or breathing and being in close proximity to other people”. In fact, more governments and international organizations are highlighting that among the main solutions to fight the Coronavirus are those that allow us to make the air we breathe safer. The first solution identified is represented by the natural ventilation (simply opening doors and windows) which, however, is not always feasible, such as during winter and summer seasons. In addition, buildings often have windows that are too small to ensure sufficient air exchange or, again, keep windows closed for safety reasons. Precisely for this reason, this solution must be accompanied by Controlled Mechanical Ventilation, which exceeds the limits listed above but which, nevertheless, does not act directly on the elimination of bacteria and, above all, viruses and mold. It is here that air purification comes into the field, which, thanks to its technology, is able to eliminate them.
CrossField: the technology by OVER
CrossField is at the forefront of the market. Its 99.9% effectiveness is guaranteed by the combined use of two different technologies: the electrostatic precipitator and UV rays. Thanks to the electrostatic precipitator, AirFrame neutralizes the majority of pollutants, viruses, bacteria, as well as dangerous molds and fungi. The electromagnetic field created by CrossField, attracts polluted particles on the 2 side plates that electrocute and destroys everything that lands on them. Those rare particles that are weakened, but not destroyed, during the first step with the precipitator, are entirely neutralized by UV rays in our second step, which sanitizes the air from viruses, bacteria, mold and fungi. At OVER, we like to say that this is the X-Effect, that is, the one generated by the union of the two technologies.
From a simple air purifier to a work of art
We decided that in order to valorize our sophisticated and sustainable technology, we needed to focus attentively to the design of AirFrame, in order to transform it in work of art or in an iconic sculpture. So, we partnered with renowned Italian artists and designers. Specifically, the first of our periodic collaborations was with the cultural Association THAT’S CONTEMPORARY based in Milan. Our choice fell on it because one of its key objectives is to give notoriety to emerging artists. In particular, the artists involved (Laura Santamaria, Sali Muller, Przemek Pyszczek, Paolo Gonzato, Mara Palena) used AirFrame as their blank canvas with complete artistic freedom to add a distinct and unprecedented take on purification. Particularly, with their own original research and the use of disparate media, investigated the relationship between the environment and the self, expressing it in a kaleidoscope of different and unique shapes, colors, geometries and images. Their valuable artistic ideas have been incorporated into our “Work of Art” collection. In addition, OVER has availed itself of the collaboration of the renowned designer Massimo Vitucci, who has contributed to the “Renaissance“ collection. But there is still much to be said. In fact, Airframe can be customized for anyone’s taste: it can be personalized with a family photo, an iconic cover, or even with a custom piece by your favorite artist. In addition, for those who are undecided, having to choose between the different collections available, OVER has decided to make the covers interchangeable. Therefore, you will be able to opt, at first, for one collection and then, change your mind, using another one. In conclusion, AirFrame has been fashioned to meet any style: discreet and minimal, or bold and debonair.
AirFrame: a sustainable and filter-free air purifier
In OVER we genuinely care about our planet and the impact generated by our products. Precisely for this reason, AirFrame has been designed to be filter-free. Most of the air purifiers present on the market require, for their functioning, the use of filters which, once their utility is exhausted, require to be disposed of and replaced. For example, HEPA and Active Carbon technologies require to change the filters every six and two months respectively. To understand the importance of this data, consider that approximately 2.5 million non-recyclable air purifier filters were used in 2021: that’s enough to fill 330 soccer fields. On the contrary, our purifier does not request, at any time, to buy new filters, but only to clean, through a simple procedure, the one already present. The economic benefits are equally surprising: on average, compared to HEPA and Active Carbon technologies, AirFrame allows to save about 2000€ in five years. In other words, OVER has not only fully incorporated the principle of ZERO Waste but it is also budget friendly.
The AirFrame APP
With the AirFrame app, it is possible to monitor and manage your device’s activity wherever you are, so AirFrame is constantly learning and becoming a part of the home’s ecosystem. Our app allows to instantly access and learn the home’s air quality information and performance to breathe freely. Through the app, it is also possible to manage the device through a series of settings and operational modes. Users can choose from a Boost and Eco mode, or even an Auto mode that self-sustains. It is intuitive, smart, and brilliant and, we like to say, bold.
To Conclude…
In 2019, OVER has formulated its mission to develop sustainable air purification for home use. To date, no home air purifier has been sustainable, creating tons of waste through traditional replacement filters. Currently, not only are the available product environmentally unconscious, they also have been unable to completely filter and purify some of the finest airborne particles we are exposed to. Only the bold have the courage to go higher and to walk where no one has gone before and we are confident that we have done so with AirFrame, a refined air purifier that can make a difference to people’s health, in a sustainable way.
