In 2025, UK-based Body Rocket will start to provide serious performance cyclists and triathletes with a system of sensors which attach to different parts of a bike to monitor aerodynamic drag. The system measures, then transmits, aero data directly into a Garmin head unit, giving live feedback on a rider’s aerodynamics and body position. This allows them to make data-based changes to both their bike and their riding position.
In 2024 Body Rocket had a series of product offers available in a Kickstarter campaign, and those sales provided product validation for our equity crowdfunding which closed 32% overfunded in August 2024. The pre-ordering also gave us a data base of potential investors.
We are registered under the UK Enterprise Investment Scheme, which enables UK taxpayers to reclaim 30% of the money they invested. There were other investor perks such as product and use of race track discounts. Larger investors (from £18,000) could even come out for a meal with us to discuss our aims in some detail.
We have actually been using rounds of equity crowdfunding since 2020, when the first round closed at 314% of target from 358 investors. Repeated use of crowdfunding gives us an existing investor network to turn to every time. From 2020 to 2022 our share price rose from £16.74 to £36.68. The last rounds raised funds through convertible loans without a share price specified.
We expect our products to be available from May 2025.
