Borrow A Boat is one of the largest boat rental marketplaces in the world. Founded by entrepreneur Matt Ovenden in 2017 in London.  The platform has grown with successive crowdfunding rounds initially, and after becoming the biggest platform in the UK, has since acquired the largest boating marketplace in the Netherlands in 2022, and then then largest boating marketplace in Germany in 2024.  The platform, which lists boats of all types and sizes, from day hires, and RIBs to yachts, catamarans, sailboats, motor yachts and superyachts all over the globe – is now in the top 3 worldwide in a sector widely tipped to consolidate – with a unicorn widely predicted to emerge.  Borrow A Boat has brought innovation and technology to the boating industry by allowing peer-to-peer charter rentals and also on-demand, on-location boating worldwide at the touch of a button.
