The 360 Prevention project is an innovative initiative by E-REDES aimed at enhancing the safety and well-being of its technical teams through advanced technology. The project focuses on ensuring the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by technicians, thereby reducing unsafe behaviors and promoting a culture of safety.
The project leverages advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Vision to validate the use of PPE in real-time. An Android application has been developed, which functions offline and integrates with the existing mobility tools used by technicians. The project ensures that all technicians are well-trained and aware of the risks associated with their tasks. It emphasizes the importance of using appropriate PPE for different activities. Continuous training and awareness programs are conducted to reinforce the correct use of PPE.
The application optimizes routes for field teams, considering factors such as distance, skills, and traffic, to enhance operational efficiency. The solution supports remote assistance through Augmented Reality and remote experts to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
The project aims to achieve “Zero Accidents” by ensuring 100% compliance with PPE usage, thereby minimizing risks and unsafe behaviors. The initiative directly impacts the safety and well-being of approximately 3,500 technicians, both internal and external, contributing to a safer work environment. The solution has the potential to be extended to other types of tasks (e.g., working at heights or underground) and to other companies within the group in Spain and Brazil.
The project involved an investment of approximately €120,000. It utilizes several innovation accelerators, including AI, Big Data/Analytics, and Mobile technologies. The AI model used is MobileNetV3, a convolutional neural network designed for efficient computation and energy consumption, making it ideal for smartphones and IoT devices.
The project promotes a culture of safety using only software, significantly reducing the consumption of materials and accessories typically used for similar purposes. It contributes to social, environmental, and economic sustainability by ensuring a safe working environment and promoting inclusive safety measures.
