Valiant was established in 2017 with a singular vision: to craft meaningful, impactful indie games that resonate with players on a deep level. Founded by Anna Högberg Jenelius, a seasoned game designer with nearly 14 years of experience, Valiant specializes in gameplay, narrative design, and Unity development, blending creativity with technical expertise.
In 2020, Valiant released Pendula Swing, a non-violent, story-driven role-playing game set in a fantastical 1920s-inspired world. With elves, goblins, and orcs, the game explores profound themes of social injustice and prejudice, offering players an opportunity to navigate complex character relationships while solving a compelling mystery. Pendula Swing made a memorable debut on PC, followed by a successful release on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
Currently, Valiant is working on KreatureKind, a captivating card battler that flips traditional gameplay on its head. Instead of vanquishing monsters, players recruit them to join their cause in a colorful world where magic is depleting. The protagonists strive to convince their communities to embrace sustainable mana practices, creating parallels with real-world grassroots movements, particularly the youth-led fight against the climate crisis.
Anna Högberg Jenelius remains Valiant’s driving force, currently serving as the sole full-time team member. She collaborates with talented freelancers on Valiant’s in-house projects while also offering consulting services to other game developers. With a deep passion for innovation and storytelling, Anna continues to lead the way in creating games that entertain, challenge, and inspire.
