Our vision is a world in which humanity no longer depends on fossil fuels as main energy carrier and in which mobility is 100% electric and energy storage is deployed massively across the world to complement renewable energy generation.
Despite very significant progress made during the last decade the current state of the art lithium ion batteries still is not enough to make possible the transition to the 100% electric. The limited energy density, safety concerns and the high cost remain important barriers preventing the mass deployment.
Basquevolt’s proprietary composite solid electrolyte brings lithium batteries beyond the state of the art by:
- Higher safety, no fire, no exposure to toxic gases or materials.
- High energy density with up to 1,000 Wh/l (and 400 Wh/kg)
- Lower cost potential, 40% cheaper as no expensive materials in the electrolyte and a manufacturing process simple and less costly.
Our ambition is to become the European leader in solid state batteries by leveraging our proprietary composite electrolyte technology that results from more than 10 years of research done by some of the world most successful solid state battery researchers at the CIC energiGUNE (top 3 European lithium battery research center).
Our breakthrough battery technology will reach TRL5 in 2023 and will be ready for mass production in 2027. We are convinced that by pushing the technical boudaries of lithium batteries we will be able to offer to the consumers the electric solutions they need for mobility and energy storage.
