CIBO Impact: Powers in scaling of sustainable agriculture

CIBO Impact powers regenerative ag initiatives for companies to meet their carbon and climate commitments with sustainability programs.

CIBO has developed a breakthrough approach to scaling and accelerating regenerative agriculture: a software platform called CIBO Impact.

Regenerative agriculture practices like no-till and cover cropping build climate-resilient soils and support stable food systems. But despite the proven effectiveness of these practices, adoption continues to be slow. Up-front costs for implementing new regenerative practices in the first few years can outweigh potential profits for growers, and earning and selling carbon credits require extensive monitoring, verification, and reporting (MVR) capabilities not readily accessible to all growers and enterprises.

Launched Q4 2022, CIBO Impact helps growers and enterprises develop, deploy and manage sustainability programs that combine advanced, science-based, ecosystem modeling, AI enhanced computer vision, MVR capabilities, and the most complete programs engine to connect growers, enterprises and ecosystems, all of which are integrated into CIBO’s platform.

Through CIBO Impact, CIBO creates visibility of the carbon footprint of entire supply chains and supply sheds. Businesses are able to find and enroll growers, while creating, managing and growing incentive programs—like pay-for-practice, price premiums, and carbon farming—that help solve climate change and restore the land.

Supply Shed Monitoring

CIBO’s Supply Shed Analysis allows companies to analyze a state, county, watershed or user-defined geographic area to determine its carbon footprint, carbon intensity, and the rate of adoption of regenerative practices; including cash crop, cover crop, and tillage. CIBO Supply Shed also enables enterprises to perform what-if analysis on the impact of new practice adoption. After incentive programs are implemented, companies can quantify their progress towards carbon reduction and regenerative adoption targets.

Streamlined Grower Enrollment System

CIBO Impact provides rapid enrollment workflows that leverage CIBO generated and external data to make grower qualification and enrollment efficient and easy.

CIBO Program Engine

The CIBO Program Engine enables businesses to define, develop and deliver grower-focused programs that incentivize the adoption of new regenerative and carbon farming practices. Programs range from CIBO Carbon Bridge, CIBO Certified Regenerative Grain, CIBO Verra Verified Carbon Credits, and more.

Modeling

CIBO combines remote sensing and computer vision with a globally-validated science framework and real-world variables like soil, weather, and plant physiology to develop sophisticated modelings of entire agricultural ecosystems. Applying crop modeling to sustainable supply chain management is a scalable way to quantify the impact that farming has on GHG emissions and sequestration.

Computer Vision

CIBO applies computer vision to analyze images to accurately determine field boundaries, planting history, and management practices. The advanced algorithms, neural networks, and AI enable identification of on-the-ground practices.

Measurement, Verification, and Reporting

CIBO’s proprietary technology platform provides the detailed impact modeling, verification, and reporting (MVR) of farming practices necessary to meet the requirements of incentive or government initiatives that require the ability to measure/quantify, monitor and verify the carbon and GHG benefits associated with those practices.
