The development made it the first soft-tissue surgical robotics system to offer VR training; giving surgical teams increased flexibility to practice their skills.

Today, combined with FundamentalVR’s, Fundamental Surgery platform CMR can now offer a unique training solution for surgeons and their surgical teams, known as Versius Virtual Reality – it compromises of a wireless headset that doesn’t require connecting to a PC, the expertise of the CMR robotic platform and the Fundamental Surgery software technology. Combined it is possible for Versius Virtual Reality to mimic the real-life environment of an operating room, simulating a lifelike and immersive experience where users are guided through learning objectives by a virtual assistant to support them at every step.
The new Versius Virtual Reality complements the existing CMR Surgical proficiency-based professional education program for Versius, including the Versius Trainer and remote learning options. Adding a virtual reality element now allows surgeons, nurses, and the entire surgical team to develop their skills when and where it’s convenient for them.
