Along with the launch of MSC Virtuosa last May21, MSC Cruises revealed to the world the new venue designed to elevate its Guests’ experience.
Dedicated space-themed contents have been consistently designed for each digital touchpoint to immerse the Guests in the futuristic MSC Starliner One space ship.
The project has been nearly six years in the making, since the first original concept. MSC Cruises has worked with leading experts from companies specialized in robotics and automation, interior design, entertainment and digital experience, to create a custom designed entertainment venue with a humanoid robot as the star.
The first performance analysis confirms the key role of the MSC Starship Club as primary venue for Guests attendance and source of revenue among the beverage offer on board.
Who is Rob?
Our humanoid robotic bartender lives in his own robotic island, where he has all the necessary tools to mix multiple alcoholic/non-alcoholic cocktails. Rob uses all his customised robotic skills, pouring spirits, juices and syrups; shaking, building or stirring the concoctions; garnishing, and serving the cocktails on specific drink platforms.
Guests can take the custom-designed futuristic glasses as a lasting souvenir of the experience.
Not only does Rob prepare an impressive range of cocktails, but he can speak 8 languages (EN, IT, ES, FR, DE, PO, CH, JP), according to the one chosen when placing the order. He uses his LED face to show his personality and emotions. And he can also show his dance moves, so that guests can enjoy his performance.
How to order and pick up a cocktail from Rob?
Guests use specifically designed self-ordering stations within the area to place their order. Guests can select a cocktail from the drink list or rather create their own preferred mix using 40+ different ingredients available.
The status of the cocktail preparation is displayed through digital monitors within the area and a ticker-tape-style LED strip above the robotic island grabs guests’ attention and invite them to pick-up their cocktail at the correct drink platform when ready.
What to do while waiting for the cocktail?
Guests can enjoy the 12-seater infinity digital interactive table, filled with cosmic contents, where plan and explore their own galactic itinerary, play arcade games and even personalize a cruise postcard to keep as digital souvenir.
Moreover, 3D holograms and the ArtWall -a mosaic digital composition- display and promote space cruises board/ashore activities, teleporting the guests into the future.
Is Rob alone?
Rob’s crew mates are nearby to offer great human-made interstellar cocktails to impress and delight every taste.
