Uptime is a new micro-learning app that is like Spotify for books, courses and documentaries.
Uptime only launched in January, and has just hit the 100,000 users milestone. Huda Kattan, the founder of Huda Beauty, recently invested in the company, along with YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley. Already popular in the UK and US, the app’s fans include the likes of Lily Cole and Vice’s Oobah Butler whose own books are featured on the platform, along with Dr Tara Swart, neuroscientist, senior lecturer at MIT Sloan, and author of bestseller The Source: Open Your Mind, Change Your Life.
Founded by Patrick Walker (formerly a senior exec at YouTube and Facebook and serial entrepreneurs Jamie True and Jack Bekhor), Uptime wants to transform how we learn and engage with technology. There are over 1,500 five-minute Knowledge Hacks on the app, from Rebecca Traister’s All the Single Ladies to Daniel Kahneman’s Thinking Fast and Slow, with more being added each month.
