Roam around and explore the 3D spaces within the NUS Mediverse.
We wanted to create a platform that could showcase the tech-forward attitude of NUS School of Medicine to potential students for the upcoming intake. The content that we created and curated for the metaverse told the story of NUS Medicine and its people, with the aim of helping potential students figure out if life at NUS and the medical journey is a fit for them.
The metaverse is built with 6 zones in mind; Scaling Impact, A Cut Above, People of NUS, Vibrant Campus Life, The Next Frontier, and Legacy. The experience starts with an instant wow with a futuristic 3D campus, where students can select a zone of interest to enter. Each zone features a different set of content following its theme.
Once inside the 3D zones, as avatars, the students can interact with each other or with NUS representatives. They can also interact with a large quantity of curated content. There are videos, images, links to websites, and 360 images. Multiple people can watch videos in the same zone without interfering with each other’s experience. We also integrated the use of spatial sound to make the experience more realistic.
The NUS Mediverse runs for a full calendar year. This virtual journey was launched in conjunction with a virtual and in-person Open House Day and a virtual pre-meet & greet networking event.
With this experience, we wanted to co-create an innovative yet deeply human experience that will leave an unforgettable impression on prospective NUS Medicine students, a clear signal that will cut through the noise of other opportunities, igniting a desire to not just take up an offer but develop a desire to contribute to NUS Medicine’s legacy.
