Cropmap is an online service that is designed to monitor crops and forecast harvest yields anywhere in Russia, from the sowing stage to gathering and subsequent sale. The service updates every 24 hours and calculates the primary characteristics and condition of the crops throughout the entire growing season. As a result of the calculation, the user receives predictions for quantitative values of the yield in centum per hectare, as well as phenology forecasts for any date in the season.
A built-in mathematical model of the production process analyzes and calculates the yield forecast. To make its calculations, the model uses soil data from a special map layer, meteorological data (temperature, humidity, precipitation, cloudiness), the averaged information about the implemented agricultural technologies, and the type of crop being cultivated.
The service also features:
- Operations management;
- Pest alerts;
- Creation of agrochemical analysis routes;
- Creation of soil fertility maps and texture maps;
- Integration with LoRa network field sensors: soil sensors, leaf sensors, weather stations
- Telematics – display of agricultural equipment on a map and work analysis for each field. Consolidated reports on fuel consumption, downtime, etc.
Farming in Russia is extremely time consuming. It demands much more time from a farmer compared with an office worker for example. Generally, during harvest period, people spend almost all the days and nights working, having no more time and energy to dedicate to the family.
Our prime target was to begin a massive digitalization of the Russian farming industry, which is known as very old-fashioned and conservative, and hence to facilitate moving from hard working hand labor to a smarter way. We really believe that the app we made and services we provide can drastically improve the whole process of harvest. Not just increase the efficiency of the labor, but what is even more important — relive more time for people to share it with their beloved.
