Prague Vision (See Prague) is a powerful tool and a smart solution developed by THINGS and Revolt.BI in order to tackle the identification and resolution of illegal advertising and visual pollution issues in the cities. With ‘visual pollution’ we refer to all kinds of issues regarding the damage and deterioration of public properties, roads, greenery, walls, as well as wrecked cars and abandoned or deteriorated goods around the city. Originally developed for the city of Prague, the project is easily scalable and automatically adaptable to any urban environment in need of renovation. See Prague was born to help achieve a cleaner, greener and perhaps even safer city for Prague, helping both citizens and public administrations in their active role toward a better city life and a more beautiful urban environment.
Let’s see how it works: the project design have developed a platform together with a two-faced app, which serves both to identify and classify all issues and to navigate efficiently into the complicated bureaucratic workflow needed to solve the issues. Activating the geolocalization and the camera of the mobile phone in which the app is installed, the user can manually take a picture and fill in the information to describe and classify the found issue, or the AI-powered software can recognize and describe the issue autonomously. After the issues are clustered and described in a clear and structured way, the tasks are handled by the responsible municipality bodies which receive, together with the issue alert notification, all the information they will need in order to solve the issue.
At the state of the art, we have collected insightful project feedback: 80% of the reported cases have been solved using the automated procedure after initial training. Within the next year following the productization, we expect to sell the service to 5 more European cities, and reach at least 3 more customers beyond public administration that will use the system.
Together with the already stated benefits of this design solution, early detection of problems can result in cost saving for the involved cities. Moreover, the active role of citizens will make them feel part of an evolving society in which anyone can do his part in making the city life better for everyone. Eventually, the incredibly easy scalability of this design solution can be sold to many cities in order to generate substantial incomes and help the many cities handle in a better, faster, and easier way their illegal advertising and visual pollution issues.
